Project Overview
Redge successfully commissioned two independent HVAC systems for a professional rugby venue in Toulouse. The installation comprised a 150 kW rooftop unit with rotary heat recovery dedicated to the venue's seminar and hospitality spaces, and a compact hydronic heat pump with integrated hydraulic module serving the stadium's administrative offices.
This dual approach ensures tailored climate control across both public and operational zones, with a focus on thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability in a performance-driven environment.
Challenges
The project required the deployment of two distinct HVAC systems adapted to different usage profiles:
- The event space demanded enhanced ventilation and energy recovery to manage irregular but high occupant loads during matches and seminars.
- The office zone needed stable, quiet, and reliable comfort throughout daily operations.
Additionally, installation and commissioning had to be carefully planned to avoid disruption of scheduled events, team activities, and matchday operations.
Redge Solution
Redge proposed and delivered a dual-system solution:
- For the hospitality and seminar areas, a 150 kW rooftop unit equipped with an enthalpy wheel (rotary heat exchanger) was installed. This system provides high-efficiency heat recovery, supports optimal indoor air quality, and reduces ventilation energy demands.
- For the administrative areas, a 250 kW ECOMFORT MC R32 air-to-water heat pump was installed. This indoor hydronic unit features a built-in ydraulic module, scroll compressors, EC fans, and advanced control logic---making it ideal for integration with the stadium's internal system architecture.
The use of R32 refrigerant supports environmental goals and aligns with the latest EU regulatory requirements on low-GWP systems.

Key Outcomes
The dual HVAC commissioning now delivers:
- Energy-efficient comfort across two distinct operational zones
- Reduced ventilation losses through integrated heat recovery
- Quiet and reliable operation for both public and administrative spaces
- Streamlined installation and commissioning with minimal site impact
This project exemplifies Redge's capability to deliver scalable HVAC strategies for the sports and leisure sector, where environmental performance and operational uptime are critical.
