Project Overview
A new 250 kW hydronic heat pump from Redge has been successfully deployed to meet the thermal needs of a dual-function public health facility in Rodez. The building combines a regional Institute of Nursing Education (IFSI) and a family planning center, requiring consistent comfort and reliable domestic hot water (DHW) production throughout the year.
Redge's solution leverages the ECOMFORT MC R32 indoor unit---an energy-efficient, compact heat pump using low-GWP refrigerant and featuring an integrated hydraulic module for simplified on-site commissioning.
Challenges
The site required a thermal system that could:
- Deliver dependable space heating for both clinical and educational areas
- Produce domestic hot water for administrative and healthcare needs
- Operate on a low-GWP refrigerant to align with sustainability mandates
- Minimize installation time and long-term maintenance
Given the dual public function of the building, continuous service and year-round efficiency were essential.
Redge Solution
Redge installed a 250 kW ECOMFORT MC R32 unit with a fully integrated hydraulic kit, combining core performance elements in a single plug-and-play platform. The system included:
- A 500-liter DHW buffer tank with electric immersion heater
- Variable-speed circulation pumps for dynamic system balancing
- R32 refrigerant, offering low environmental impact and no PFAS
This single-unit design reduced hydraulic complexity, streamlined installation, and ensured a fast, coordinated commissioning process---minimizing disruption to facility operations.
