Upgrading Rooftop Intelligence with Redge E-Baltic Automation

Project Overview

A major retail operator in France initiated a modernization program to upgrade the control systems of rooftop units installed more than 10 years ago across its nationwide store network. The objective was to improve energy efficiency, operational reliability, and centralized supervision, while extending the lifespan of existing HVAC assets.

The pilot project was implemented at the Englos store, where 15 rooftop units were fully retrofitted.

The Redge Solution

Redge deployed its latest-generation E-Baltic control platform, featuring a 100% Redge-developed control program. This advanced automation system enables optimized management of all key rooftop components, including:

• Compressor sequencing and operation
• Hot water coil management
• Airflow regulation
• Indoor air quality monitoring
• Free cooling and free heating strategies

To ensure high-precision and reliable performance, critical field components were also replaced:

• Temperature and humidity sensors
• High- and low-pressure transducers
• Filter clogging sensors
• Fan pressure sensors
• Energy meters for accurate consumption monitoring

The entire system is now fully integrated into the store’s BMS (Building Management System), enabling centralized monitoring and advanced energy management.
