Project Overview
A waste sorting facility in the Puglia region, specializing in the selection
of packaging waste from urban separate collection, required a robust HVAC
solution capable of handling high volumes of outdoor air. The system had to
maintain strict temperature conditions year-round while treating 100% fresh
air, a necessity for compliance and operational comfort in industrial waste
environments.
To meet this need, Redge delivered and installed two
EVIO rooftop units, each configured to supply a steady airflow of 21,000 m³/h with a
cooling capacity of 145 kW. These units were equipped with pre- and
post-electric heating coils to ensure that indoor temperatures remained stable
between 20 °C and 26 °C in all seasons, despite outdoor
climate fluctuations.
Challenges
The facility needed to guarantee comfort and air renewal using only outdoor
air—no recirculation—while achieving precise temperature control.
Handling 100% external air required a system with high efficiency and rapid
response capabilities, especially in a region known for temperature extremes.
The installation also needed to function reliably in a dusty, high-humidity
industrial environment.
Redge Solution
The EVIO rooftop units selected for this project combined powerful air
handling with full modularity and customization. Each unit included electric
resistance coils both upstream and downstream of the main conditioning
section. This configuration allowed the system to stabilize supply air
temperatures before and after cooling or heating sequences, ensuring constant
internal conditions regardless of seasonal or hourly variation.
Both rooftop units operated in full outdoor air mode, taking advantage of
EVIO’s built-in free cooling logic and robust filtration capability. The
inclusion of precise airflow modulation and heat recovery potential further
contributed to the site’s energy optimization plan.
For industrial or environmental sites requiring 100% outdoor air treatment and
temperature control, the
EVIO rooftop range
offers a dependable all-in-one solution.
Key Outcomes
The system provided continuous fresh air with exact thermal regulation across
the facility. The electric heating stages allowed the site to achieve
year-round thermal stability without relying on fossil fuels. The rooftop
configuration also minimized indoor equipment footprint, simplifying both
maintenance and compliance in a regulated waste-handling environment.
