In the context of a new biogas facility installation in northern Germany, the plant required process cooling to make the gas suitable for injection into the national grid. The cooling system needed to lower the temperature of the processed gas to a stable, “transport-ready” level to ensure compatibility with the central gas distribution infrastructure.
The Redge team was selected to deliver the complete cooling solution, working in close collaboration with a leading international biogas plant manufacturer.
Challenge
The cooling system had to guarantee continuous 24/7 operation under demanding conditions, including low water temperatures (1–6 °C). Additionally, the solution had to allow for potential capacity expansion in case of future upgrades to the biogas facility.
The Redge Solution
Redge supplied a high-capacity, modular cooling package combining:
-
eCOMFORT air-cooled chiller: providing primary chilled water for the main and secondary cooling circuits of the biogas heat exchangers.
-
V-KING dry cooler: serving as the pre-cooling system to reduce the thermal load before entering the main chiller loop.
This combination ensures optimal energy transfer efficiency, reliability, and flexibility to support future system scaling.
